AdvocateLoop

Why AdvocateLoop

A referral platform
built on opinions.

Most referral tools were built for someone else: big online stores, or affiliate networks designed to pay strangers a commission. We built this one for businesses whose growth runs on regulars who already love them. Here’s what we believe, what we built, and what we left out on purpose.

The decisions we made

Four choices we made on purpose.

Decision 1

Discount codes for customer referrals.
The right tool for the right job.

When an advocate sends a friend who buys, the advocate earns store credit, not cash. That’s a deliberate choice. Credit keeps the value inside your business, brings the advocate back through your door for their next visit, and spares you a whole category of headache: no 1099s, no tax tracking, no one signing up just to chase a payout.

Cash payouts solve a different problem. Affiliate networks exist to pay outside promoters who have no relationship with your business, a different kind of program with different mechanics. We may add affiliate-style payouts someday for the businesses that truly need them, but they’ll never be the default for customer referrals. They’re simply not the same thing.

Decision 2

No advocate portal.
No second account to manage.

Most referral platforms make your customers create a separate “advocate dashboard” just to track their referrals. Ours doesn’t. A customer taps the widget on your site, enters their email, and sees ready-to-send share links right away. The whole thing takes about 30 seconds: no portal, no password to remember, no app to download.

The fewer steps between a customer wanting to share and actually sharing, the more sharing happens.

Decision 3

Conversion-only rewards.
No payouts on traffic.

Some platforms hand out rewards for clicks, sign-ups, or social shares. We don’t. A reward is earned only when a referred friend actually pays, and if that friend later refunds, the reward reverses on its own. You only ever pay out on revenue that stuck.

That also closes the door on the most common way these programs get gamed: fake clicks, fake sign-ups, people referring themselves. If the friend never pays, nothing is ever owed. The math stays clean.

Decision 4

One product for many industries.
Not a vertical-specific tool.

We support beauty salons, med spas, gyms, ecommerce brands, and any other business with customers who come back. Not because we’re chasing everyone, but because the heart of it is the same in every one of them: a happy customer tells a friend, the friend buys, the customer gets thanked for it.

A salon owner doesn’t need a different referral platform than a med-spa owner. They need the same engine, dressed in language that reflects their day. That’s what the use-case pages are for; the machinery underneath is shared.

How we compare

Three categories of alternatives.

Most people weighing AdvocateLoop are coming from no system at all, or comparing us against one of three kinds of tools. Here’s where we stand next to each.

Category 1

Tools built for ecommerce in 2015.

Most direct alternative

The first wave of referral platforms was built for Shopify-era online stores. They’re mature, packed with features, and plug deeply into the big ecommerce platforms. If you’re a high-volume online store running cash-payout affiliate programs and you need direct integrations with twenty different tools, one of those may genuinely serve you better than we will.

What they do well

  • Deep Shopify integration with native apps
  • Mature feature sets after years of iteration
  • Established ecosystem and partner integrations

Where we differ

  • Built for any business with repeat customers, not just ecom
  • Modern interface, no commission-tier complexity
  • Transparent pricing, no sales calls to start

Category 2

Affiliate networks built for software.

Different shape of business

The next category is built for affiliate marketing at scale: layered commission tiers, partner recruiting, and the tax paperwork that comes with paying people cash. Those tools earn their keep when you’re running a program with hundreds of paid partners. For rewarding your own customers, they’re both overkill and the wrong shape.

What they do well

  • Multi-tier commission structures
  • Recruiting and managing paid affiliates
  • Compliance and tax tooling for cash payouts

Where we differ

  • Customers, not affiliates: your existing buyers, not paid promoters
  • Discount codes only, no commissions or 1099s
  • 10-minute setup, not a 6-week implementation

Category 3

Building it yourself.

For engineering teams

If you have developers, building your own is a real option. Generating coupon codes, tracking clicks, and tying a sale back to the right advocate aren’t hard problems on their own. The real question is whether owning and maintaining all of it forever is a better use of your team than the product they’d otherwise be building.

When it makes sense

  • Referral mechanics are a core differentiator for your business
  • Your team has the bandwidth to maintain it long-term
  • You need integrations no off-the-shelf tool provides

Where we save you time

  • Drop-in widget instead of months of build
  • Fraud handling, refund logic, edge cases all solved
  • Engineers freed to work on your actual product

How we operate

Four principles.

Clarity over completeness.

We’d rather have ten features that work flawlessly than fifty features that mostly work. Every feature in the product earns its place; everything else is a settings checkbox we’d have to support forever.

Honest pricing.

The pricing page lists exactly what every plan costs. No “contact sales,” no hidden tiers, no surprise transaction fees. We earn the next month, every month, and we believe a business that operates that way will be better than one that doesn’t.

Your data is yours.

CSV exports, no data ransom, brand isolation between accounts. If you ever leave AdvocateLoop, you take everything with you. We don’t sell your customer data, ever, for any reason.

You set the pace.

The product installs in 10 minutes. You can be live by lunch. If you want hands-on help, we can do that too. The choice is yours, and onboarding is never a gate to using the product.

What this means for you

Pick what fits your business.

If you’re a high-volume online store running cash-payout affiliate programs, an established platform with deep ecommerce integrations may serve you better than we do today. If you’re a software company building a partner program with hundreds of affiliates, an affiliate network is the right tool, go use it.

But if you run a business built on people coming back, a salon, a med spa, a gym, a studio, a shop, and you want a referral program that goes live in an afternoon, costs nothing to start, rewards your regulars in your own store credit, and then gets out of your way, that’s the one we built.
