For gyms and fitness studios
Members who love the workout already invite their friends.
Friends sign up together. Workout partners stick. Members who refer friends are 30% less likely to churn. AdvocateLoop tracks every member-driven sign-up and sends a discount code automatically.
Works with Vagaro, Boulevard, Mindbody · No cash payouts

Sound familiar?
You already know referrals are your best customers. They’re just hard to reward.
Bring-a-friend day doesn’t scale.
You run a member-and-friend free class twice a year. Some friends sign up, most don’t. The members who actually brought multiple friends never get the credit they deserve.
Ads target the wrong people.
Cold ads bring in trial members who churn at month two. Member referrals bring in friends who already have an accountability partner, they stay longer, work out more, and refer their own friends.
Cash bonuses don’t work for fitness.
A $50 referral check feels weird at a gym. A free month of unlimited classes? That’s a member who’s in the studio more often, talking about their workout to more friends.
The chain
Members bring workout buddies. Workout buddies bring more.
Sarah’s been showing up to morning bootcamp for two years. She brings her work friend Mike. Mike signs up, gets hooked, and brings his roommate Lisa and his coworker Carlos. Each one gets a free month for the next friend they refer. The chain compounds.
How it works
From recommendation to reward, on its own.
Add the widget to your site.
One snippet on your homepage, class schedule, or member portal. Works with Mindbody, Glofox, Wodify, custom sites, wherever your members already visit you online.
Members sign up as advocates in seconds.
After a member visits your site, they tap the widget and get a personal referral link, ready to share to Instagram, SMS, or their workout group chat. No app, no separate account, no hassle.
Friend joins, member earns a free month.
When the friend signs up for a membership and pays the first month, the original member gets a credit code emailed to them, valid against their next billing cycle, a class pack, or whatever you configure. They stay engaged. The friend stays engaged. Their friends start paying attention.
It fits
Built for how gyms actually get paid.
AdvocateLoop reads the sale where it actually happens, your booking system, your point of sale, your store. The reward fires when money changes hands, not just on a website cart. Nothing changes about how you operate.
Rewards that feel like you
No cash. Nothing that cheapens the relationship.
Reward referrals with things that bring people back, not an awkward envelope of cash.
Free month
A month of membership credit. The reward members actually want, and it deepens their own commitment.
Guest passes or gear
Branded gear or guest passes they can share, turning rewards into even more referrals.
Class or PT credit
Credit toward classes or personal training, perfect for boutique studios and punch-pass models.
Where it shows up
A few ways it plays out.
Workout buddies bring workout buddies.
Sarah brings her work friend Mike to morning bootcamp. Mike signs up. Mike then brings his roommate Jay. Sarah earns credit. Mike earns credit. Jay’s on his way to bringing his own friend in. The chain compounds.
The new-year cohort.
You launch a transformation program in January. Every member who refers a friend before February 1st gets a free month. The dashboard shows you exactly which members drove which sign-ups, and which friends to focus retention efforts on.
Class punch-pass referrals.
A drop-in member buys a 10-class pack. She loves it, refers two friends. They both buy passes. She gets a free pack, keeping her active in the studio for another month, exposing her to more potential friends.
Questions
Answered.
- Does this work with Mindbody, Glofox, or Wodify?
- The widget lives on your website. When a referred member signs up, you record the conversion either through the widget on your sign-up page, manually from your AdvocateLoop dashboard, or via a webhook if your gym software supports outgoing notifications. We’re actively building direct integrations with the major fitness platforms, let us know which one you use and we’ll prioritize.
- Can I reward members with a free month or class credits instead of cash?
- Yes, that’s how AdvocateLoop works by default. The reward is a discount code, which you redeem against whatever your billing system supports, a free month, a class pack, percentage off, or a fixed credit. Most gyms set the reward to whatever feels equivalent to their average referral value.
- What if a referred member cancels in their first month?
- The reward is automatically docked from the original advocate’s account. You only count rewards on revenue that stuck. If a refund or cancellation hits before the membership solidifies, the credit reverses without you needing to do anything.
- Can my coaches see which members are bringing friends?
- Yes. The dashboard shows every conversion with the member who drove it. Coaches and front desk staff can recognize active referrers at check-in, send personal thank-yous, or surface top advocates for ambassador programs.
- Will this work for boutique studios with smaller member bases?
- Yes, in fact it works especially well for boutique studios because every member matters and every referral is meaningful. The Starter plan handles up to 100 advocates and 50 monthly conversions, which covers most studios under 200 members. Premium plans scale up from there.
- Can I use this for class drop-ins as well as full memberships?
- Yes. Both class drop-ins and full memberships count as conversions, you decide the reward amount for each type when configuring your program. Many studios reward a referred drop-in differently than a referred annual membership, with both tracked in one dashboard.
